Instructions on programming the RM5 Electronic Coin Mechanism

The following instructions will assist you in the self-programming of the RM5 Electronic Coin Mechanism:

  1. Power down the electrical source of your vending machine.

  2. Switch "on" the six (6) dip switches located on the side of the RM5 coin mechanism.

  3. Power up the electrical source of your vending machine which supplies the DC voltage. ( +12 or +24 volts DC to the RM5.)

  4. Insert the 1st coin value "twice" [2 coins]

  5. Turn off the dip switches 2 thru 6 of the 6 dip switch row.

  6. Insert the 1st coin value with 15 different coins of the same value a total of 15 times until the solenoid "clicks".

  7. With the input electrical power "on"...turn "off" switch #1 of the 1 - 6 switches.

  8. Switch "off" the input +12 or +24 volts and leave electrical input power "switched off" a minimum of 5 seconds.

  9. Power up the input of +12 or +24 volts for 5 seconds.

  10. Switch "on" all 6 of the switches 1 - 6......then switch power "off" and then "on".

  11. Insert the 2nd coin value with two (2) coins or the same coin "twice".

  12. Switch "off" switches 1, 3 - 6.

  13. Insert the 2nd set of 15 coins so that a minimum of 15 coins or more are inserted of the same value until the solenoid "clicks".

  14. Keep the RM5 powered up with +12 or +24 volts and switch "off" switch #2 of the 1 - 6 dip switches.

  15. Switch "off" the +12 or +24 volts DC input to the RM5, count to 5 seconds and switch electrical power "on".

  16. Repeat the above steps for the remaining 4 coins.
